Mine dropped from ~8-10% average open (~4% collapsed to tray) down to ~3-4% average open (~2% collapsed to tray) by turning off "Use browser hardware acceleration when available" in the client General settings. Hopefully the voip client doesn't rely on the browser libraries and there will be a way to wrangle the battlenet client so that it is useable without affecting game performance. They are implementing a voice chat in the client, so that you can chat with people on your friends list, and I think that will do a lot to discourage toxicity in the community (the obvious advantage of voice chat won't be as readily available to those who alienate everyone they meet). That said, I really love what they've been doing with the battlenet client.

I use the setting to turn battlenet off if I've loaded a game, but they really should just have a default setting that stops the browser object within the client, so that people can leave it running without such a crazy overhead.
Avast causing problems with blizzard battle.net windows#
Windows on its own goes out to the web for absurd and obnoxious reasons now, its really difficult to reign in all your resources if you don't have a premium machine. There will be like a hundred scripts, all loading a hundred pages. I don't run a browser while running a game that might benefit from better bandwidth, especially if you've loaded a page like reddit or gmail or anything that a lot of devs work on. I noticed this a while back, if you monitor your tcp/ip connections at all you'll notice opens as many as a modern browser, and this is why. Running a browser in battlenet is pretty expensive. If you are (or aren't) affected, what is your CPU model? Maybe there is some kind of correlation.Įdit: Best workaround I found so far: (works on windows 10) My question beeing: what about you? Can you spot abnormally high CPU usage for those processes in your task manager?ĭid you not notice it before or are you just not affected by this bug? So I was wondering if this was because it only affects a few computers, only some model of CPU or something like that. I know that this has been reported, but there is not really any information about what Blizzard is doing about it, and two builds later (71), the bug is still there. I would be cool with those two processes if they didn't make the client use far too much of my CPU for what it does. Since build 7074 (april 6 or something like that) I noticed two new processes spawned by : Helper.exe JD0815 Hots am chillen :) !dc !commands 4 UCANTstopME92 2.000 Master points ? // 2k High performance Stream / ENG/ DE/ EU / last stats 9 W / 9 L / LATER BG3 54 Rektyynoob 👑GM#22&39&41&81👑 Trying not to lose your mind (challenge impossible) 54 Ravinar_ (EU) Solo Q Storm League is where the fun is!!! |!Ads !Youtube !Discord 103įanHOTS (RERUN) BRONZE TO GM RETURNS!
